The Blonds NYFW’25

The iconic duo, David and Phillipe Blond, have been taking over New York Fashion Week for the past 10 years and continue to blow the minds of their audiences with each new collection they present. Their unique style and creative vision have earned them a prominent place in the fashion industry, making every showcase highly anticipated. The Blonds' over-the-top glamour and edgy style captivated viewers, specifically this Fall/Winter collection delivers that and more. On February 8th 2025, I had the pleasure of being invited to this show, at the FIDI Bank Hall. This is my first time officially attending The Blonds and also having the extreme honor of speaking with David Blond backstage before the show. “Is this really happening?” I whispered to myself throughout this whole experience, as it truly was a dream come true. To be in an atmosphere of all the glitz and glamour, whimsical expression and stellar divas, how could I not help myself but to fan girl. The Blonds Fall/Winter 2025 collection merges Old Hollywood glam with the vibrant energy of the FIDI Bank Hall. It pays tribute to Golden Age opulence with dramatic, decadent pieces. Their signature styles feature cascading teal feathers and crystal-embellished corsets, reflecting timeless luxury.

When I asked David Blond about where the inspiration was drawn from this season he smiled and said “What's weird is that, you know, we took heights last season and we wanted to really come back even stronger with glamour and really sort of bring it back to our roots. Our customers already serve this idea of the global party that they're always at. So, you know, 1 min, you're in the city and it's cold. The next minute, you're on the beach and it's hot. So, you know, that's really where we're at with it. We really focused on a party vibe! There’s many options for someone to wear to any type of event.” They definitely captured that with this collection. Each piece captures the essence of “The Global Glamazon!” Always on the go, one part “CityLights”, featuring sleek, confident cocktail attire with sparkling mini dresses and daring cutouts, with a touch of the silver screen. Then, “Beach Nights”, leads to a hot night out in colorful sultry pieces with shimmering metallic details, and bold looks designed for a glamorous evening under the stars. This collection had the perfect Valentines Day selection as well, one outfit resembling a sexy Jessica Rabbit holding a white fur shrug. I asked David what is his favorite piece he would love to see Phillipe in, he replied laughing “ Phillipe’s favorite outfit is his favorite outfit, so probably whatever he chose, I’d love. He’s very specific with his choosing”.

While sitting front row, I shrieked in excitement that this is actually happening! I’ve religiously watched every runway season of The Blonds and my favorite season was “The Disney Villians” themed show. I mentioned the show to David so we could remember it together. “Its funny that you bring up the Disney villains show, because one of our models was Leiomy Maldonado and she is the iconic voguer and when she did her walk and did the dip, Lizzo was at the show and her face and reaction was amazing!” I was so happy that David shared the same excitement as I’ve always had about that seasons show because it truly lives rent free in my mind.

The wait was undoubtedly worth it because I had an incredibly amazing experience attending and covering the highly anticipated show, The Blonds. Purple PR has a truly exceptional team, that managed to run everything smoothly both backstage and throughout the entirety of the show. Their professionalism and attention to detail made the event enjoyable for everyone involved. This season, the brand redefines high-glamour, turning every ensemble into a statement of extravagance. With dazzling bijous in dramatic silhouettes, The Blonds merges haute couture with edgy glamour. From floor-length gowns to crystal-studded corsetry, their designs celebrate individuality and self-expression.

 This collection is for women who never get upset; they get what they want, whether they are an It Girl, model, actress, showgirl, or jewel thief.
